Redhouse Barns 10th July

I ran the Robinson MV and recorded 120 moths of 43 species, including 12 Elephant Hawkmoths, 1 Small Elephant Hawkmoth, 1 Poplar Hawkmoth, 4 Brown-tail, 3 Short Cloaked Moth, 1 Round-winged Muslin, The Fan-foot, 1 Clouded Silver, 1 Garden Tiger, 1 Peach Blossom and 1 Buff-tip. I also recorded the micro's Catoptria Falsella and Rhodophaea formosa. I have only recorded singletons of Brown-tail in previous years, so to catch 4 would suggest they bred in the area last year. One was a female on the wall of the barn and there were 3 males in the trap.
